We first used Jody to plan and project manage the landscaping for the house we were building on a back-lane in North Perth.
Jody listened to our ideas and came up with a plan which maximised the street appeal of the house as well as creating two very separate gardens, all on a very tight block.

I first met Jody about 15 years ago when I engaged her services to design the front garden of my 1950’s cottage in Wembley. It was a fairly small area but we wanted to make a big impact to the entrance to our newly renovated and extended house. Jody’s design resulted in our visitors walking along a winding path through a low maintenance garden filled with plants and flowers. The garden also featured a lovely limestone paved area surrounding a bronze water feature. Very fitting for the suburb and street scape.
A few years later I got Jody back to design our pool and surrounding garden in the rear of the property. This wasn’t without challenges as it was a small back yard and as well as a pool we needed to accommodate a large shed, pool pump house, retaining walls, fence screening and a utility area for washing line and sand pit. The end result was so impressive it featured in the West Australian newspaper Home & Garden section.
Next up was a very large back garden in Floreat. This time we also needed to incorporate screening a large shed and many metres of fencing on three sides. Lots of different levels of ground to retain and varying uses within the area. Jody delivered a knock out design whilst still being relatively low maintenance and within budget.
A change in circumstances and I got Jody back to face the very different challenge of creating something out of a very small courtyard backyard in Wembley Downs that had a huge house in the rear block looking down on it. I am extremely happy with the result and almost five years later I still receive many compliments from visitors to my home, Jody’s designs stand the test of time.
Jody offers not only great design ideas but is also very practical in her approach. She will always incorporate client’s ideas but offers great advice as to how those ideas can or cannot work. We are presented with not only a fully workable plan but also plant lists (after researching what’s available), planting advice and even contractor and product recommendations.
